I made $1,900 my first year in real estate. I hope you can skip that part. I also quit commercial because the sales take forever to close and most fall apart. At least i have a prayer of selling a home and having it close. The one advice i have is to offer to “watch everyone’s business when they go on vacation”. People will be thrilled that you offer. No one else offers and that makes vacations so hard to enjoy. They will send you referrals later and you will make money. /

handle buyers and sellers to where they are comfortable w/ you and they trust you and like you? is this the way to be successful in real estate? i will start off in residential, but would like to be in commercial someday. any advice will be appreciated!

as a buyer or a seller the agent should be knowledgeable about the house that they are selling and market it aggressively.
You should be able to go in with a prospective buyer and show them the house pointing out the conditions like does it need an electrical upgrade a new roof, have there been obvious water leaks, — these are examples and are things that can factor in for the buyer and a first time buyer may not know what to be looking for.
If you are working for the selller you need to point out all the features that are upgraded, the condition, the location all the extras and bonuses..etc.
If you have a likable personality and a good knowledge of what you are doing you will build your clientele, maybe slowly but steadily.
