my family has a commercial property for sale….the enviromental report came back that it has CHROMIUM HYDROCARBONS……….. do you know what this means? AND what the remediation would be and possibly the COSTS and if it is truley a big problem ?? THANK_YOU

There’s no such thing as “chromium hydrocarbons”. Get the report in writing and repost some details. The remediation will depend on the extent of the problem, exactly what it is, and what state you are located in.
You can/should also hire a local environmental consultant to review the report for you. It may not be that bad. If it is very bad, there are other alternatives to look into such as making the property a Brownfield site, but you need an expert to review the report to know where to start.

I’m not sure what they mean?Why don’t you ask them?If they are talking about the soil around the property or the buildings it may be the property has been contaminated with Chromium.This would come about if there was a leather tanning or chromium electro-plating.If this is the case it would be cheaper to pull the whole place down,clear the site,take out the topsoil,and then sell the vacant site.In other words your site is poisonous.
