It Walmart, McDonalds and Home Depot to cause economic recession?

Supermarket seem to appeal to all traffic. Shares of companies no small business not a lot, and they can not compete with big business. Big companies like Walmart and Home Depot and McDonald's has not affected much, Or so it seems to me. It's smaller stores downtown are closing, and begin to appear shops in the city, with senior officials. Commercial real estate, I have heard, there will be problems such as foreclosures.
